Since you’re posting about race bending the Avengers: Shouldn’t Captain America be played by a Native American? Just a thought…

Maybe you should see THIS POST, where someone has indeed done that. That I have reblogged.

And your phrasing sounds like you’re trying to get me to sit here and justify my choices. I don’t have the time for a long post about how this project is planned and cast and what is projected to be a part of it in the long run. So. There’s your short answer, and that’s all I’m giving you.

you get full aneasthesia for wisdom teeth removal?? In Europe I only ever heard of using local aneasthesia unless the patient is expected to be unable to hold still for whatever reason, which works perfectly fine and at least spares you the usual grogginess or worse nausea *shudder* associated with full aneasthesia.

I actually had the option, and went with full anaesthesia because I flat out panic at needles where I can’t see them going in. At the time. It’s since gotten worse*.

So, anaesthesia it was, and they took care of not just the wisdom teeth, but some fillings that needed done while they were in there, because it was better for my mental health that way.

(And honestly, with my reaction to anaesthesia, grogginess and nausea were not an issue. I metabolize it quickly, and I am combative when coming out, and then… nothing.)

*mostly because the other dentist in that practice decided to try to tell me that I couldn’t have needed the mouth block I requested when he needed to put a local in to deal with a filling, because I did just fine. And never mind that my hands ached from gripping the arms of the chair so hard, or that the mouth block creaked I was biting down so hard, and the only reason he didn’t get hit was because I was holding onto the chair that hard, and had gone absolutely rigid with panic.

Now I have to be able to not only see the needle go in, I have to be the one to say, “now” about it being slid in.

I have so many thoughts about the Founders. And most of those thoughts are how they were done so seriously wrong for what they were built up as….. I should write that rant at some point….

I would like to see your rant! 😀

As for me….

They had so much potential, and they became just another alien enemy hell-bent on galactic domination. My brain continually lumps them and the Borg together as “big bads from parts of the galaxy the Federation has had little-to-no contact with”…. and also, of late, “aliens that could have been so much more than the ‘they aren’t like us’ boogeymen”.

I mean, the Borg are the “omg, using technology to expand/extend lives is eeeeeevil”. The “ew, cyborgs”. Without any real counterweights to the argument that technology used to directly extend/expand lives is a bad thing.

And the Founders are the “can’t trust someone who doesn’t fit in neat little boxes” aliens. Which. Even humans are messy and don’t fit neatly into boxes most of the time, but that doesn’t make those who won’t fit into a rigid framework any less people. Any less good people. Any less deserving of respect and the consideration that all people should be given. To live their lives without others imposing some framework on them.

Which of course, drags them into the context of the real world, rather than keeping the meta within the canon, but. *shrugs*

omg THAT ONE. WHERE GARAK NEARLY WIPES OUT THE WHOLE AWAY TEAM. YAY FOR EFFICIENT CARDASSIAN SPY/ASSASSINS THO AMIRITE?

😀 Yes, that one. And oh, do I love the glimpse of Garak stripped of the masks, the politely lethal and very, very dangerous Obsidian Order agent. Just. *hums happily*

One reason I ship Odo with Lwaxana is that she loves that he’s a shapeshifter and makes him excited to be him

*nods* Yes. Granted, my reason for shipping them is a lot because she doesn’t push him for anything he doesn’t express an active and enthusiastic wish for, not after the intial meeting. Just. She wants him to be him, and to be the best him he can be. No expectations of anything else.

The disparity between their times certainly shows. Well done! And I love the way all the royals want to save face and act like they’re unfazed by everything.

Thank you!

(Margaret is curious, but isn’t too fussed about not knowing how things work. Owen, however, knows his liege, and also knows her family – and he’s planning on learning as much as he can, and writing it all down once he has access to writing materials, so he can bring it back for Margaret’s little brother Richard, who wants to know everything about everything.)

I don’t know much of the historical figures/characters here but I’m enjoying this 🙂

Margaret is an OC, and she doesn’t have a large part in anything else posted beyond this story, so the only person who has a firm handle on who she is is me. 🙂

Of the others…. John Holland, Thomas Beaufort, and Owen Tudor are not particularly large players in history on their own, but their various descendants – especially Owen’s – are important in the later part of the 15th century. Richard Neville is also called the Kingmaker, because he’s an important figure in the War of the Roses, on both sides of that war.

Right now, in this story, however, Richard is just the son-in-law of an Earl and cousin of the king through the Beaufort family. And one of the knights whose job it is to keep the Princess of Wales from getting into too much trouble, as are they all.

But I feel you on the diagrams. Ugh. Sometimes they make no sense. And I LIKE to put things together. I like building things in general. But I suppose that doesn’t necessarily cover all mechanical things, either, so.

And hi! *waves* Just noticed you tagged me in this, lol. Thank you! ❤

*grins* You responded to the last one, and expressed an interest in the story, so. 😀

And the diagram of the ship. It doesn’t even fit with what we see in the movie, which is what got the rude gestures. So my mental map includes three levels, of which the third is pretty much all cockpit, and there’s at least one cargo hold, because even a royal yacht has got to have storage space for things.

🙂 Enjoying the hell out of this crossover. Again or still or whichever word you want to use. 😛 Seriously, though, at least you made some progress here. Writing regularly is a PAIN until you’re well in the habit already. Good luck and I’m looking forward to reading more of this!

Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

(I used to be in the habit, and then I was a little busy for several years trying to recover from a bad situation while not actually giving myself time and room to recover, and writing regularly stopped happening. Getting back into the habit is being difficult, but it’s worth it, because writing regularly is (a) good for my mental health and (b) a good indicator that I’m winning the argument with the brain weasels at the moment.)

Happy belated birthday, friendo! I’m sorry I didn’t catch you the day of *hugs* I hope you had a lovely one

Is still my birthday! You are not late. 🙂 *hugs you* I am having a pretty good birthday today. Puttering about and stuff. And chocolate cake. And nommy rice pot stuff. And many birthday wishes from people, and TWO fics I follow that are very very awesome updated today. Or near enough to today as makes no difference for my reading of the updates.

@deadcatwithaflamethrower @lacefedora @norcumi @queenkit @koiotchka @travellingwiththedead @jabberwockypie @elegantmess-southernbelle

I see your birthday wishes, and you are all awesome, and THANK YOU!

… And I did mention chocolate cake, and it is a costco chocolate cake and no I haven’t eaten the whole thing, but I may have eaten a bit more of it than I should have. Or maybe it’s just that several people have said happy birthday and it’s very awesome and I’m bouncing because look, people noticed it’s my birthday!

One more year survived. Another win. And there are people who have celebrated with me, even a little bit.

(Also, Saturday there will be noms at a restaurant I haven’t been to in a decade. I am looking forward to this. That may also be part of the being happy-excited.)

Edit: Make that three fics! *goes to read the latest chapter of Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail*

Hope you feel better. Also, if you’re looking for a less sweet honey, sage honey seems less sweet than other honeys, to me at least? I’ve heard that barley honey isn’t as sweet either. IDK for sure tho, I’ve never gotten to try it.

I get my honey from Bee Folk, so it’s down to whatever honey they have when I see them, and I haven’t seen Sage or Barley among them. I may have to check their website and see if they show up on there at any point.

I know the Killer Bee is particularly sweet, and if I wanted to go downstairs for the rest of the honeys, the Carrot one is a bit less sweet, and also has a touch of a bite to it, and Radish has a nice bite to add flavor to the sweet. Palmetto tastes like dried fruit (not quite raisins, but they’re the only dried fruit I have a clear taste memory of), but in the tea, it tastes fantastic.

I’m mostly trying to find where my limits are on each of the honeys, regardless of level of sweet, so I can keep that in mind for the next cold, and use suitably large amounts of honey in my tea.

re pain in the ribs: apparently if you bend your knees while coughing it relaxes an upper body muscle so coughing shouldn’t hurt? I haven’t had the chance to try it get but my massage therapist was telling me how to avoid spraining my ribs again this year when I get my eventual chest infection so maybe that might help if you can manage it?

also *hugs* hope you feel better soon and the tea helps 😦

From the brief experiments run when I saw your reply – knees bent toward chest do indeed help the coughing not hurt so much, however, body shape gets in the way of sitting like that, so stopping coughing before it gets started is probably still best. (On the other hand, that will be useful for when dealing with coughing fits that neither the meds nor the honey can stop, so my lungs can clear gunk out.)

*hugs back* I’ve managed awake all day since I woke up, which is better than the last couple of days. (Wednesday I slept lots, yesterday I had several naps but not as much as Wednesday.)

And thank you! 🙂
