And there go the neighbors setting off fireworks.

I don’t like the deep booms so close. The little pop snaps I can handle but please stop the booms.

Yours and mine both.

*hugs you, and offers to share the virtual blanket fort*

Debating going to hide in the bedroom downstairs and see if it is less loud in the basement. Also hoping they don’t light any of the trees on fire.

*hugs and hides in blanket fort*

I do not mind the ones across the pond at the event area where this is allowed and it is professional. But right next door with loud booms I mind very much.

I hope it is quieter. For me, there is no place that’s likely to be quieter, and I know from last night, headphones are insufficient.

And I hear you about the think they’re done and they start again.

Why aren’t fireworks all required to be only used by professionals in all the states again? *drags a pillow over their head, and makes rude gestures at their neighbors*

*hugs tight* ugh up until a few years ago they Were illegal here. Outside of professionals.

Then they permitted them but like only small ones. But everyone does whatever the fuck they want because they were already getting them out of state illegally and they just have gotten worse about it because it’s not 100% illegal for everyone anymore.

It’s really really easy in this state to just go to another one. Drive 3 hours and you’re in Vermont or New York.

*hugs even more*

If the rain had lasted longer, there wouldn’t be fireworks happening, and I would be a much happier person.

*hugs back, and clings a little*

I don’t remember if they’re legal or illegal here, but I don’t remember them being nearly so prolific last year. Some popping, but not the deeper booms. Which suggests something changed, though whether it was laws or just neighbors decided they gave no fucks, I dunno.

32 & 44

For this set of questions.

32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?

The Child (who has no actual name). Who is – in a very literal sense – the person one universe revolves around. And she is a creepy little angel-ghost-something who has a very firm idea what the life of the people she attaches herself is supposed to be, and makes it happen. Makes them live, alters their memories, the memories of everyone around them.

(Also, she’s part of a set of snippets that aren’t likely to go any further than they already have, either in scope or location, not without a good deal of research and consultation with other people. For reasons I’m not going to get into on tumblr.)

44. Something you like about your OCs in general

Experimenting. Hopefully growing as a writer and a person as I grow the characters, which means in some cases keeping only the barest bones of them because when I first created their stories, I did not do anywhere near enough research to do them justice, even as side characters.

@morgynleri

is probably going to have a positive influence on the amount of clone fatalities before they leave kamino in Twinnish: Maul Edition

quite possibly more hurt for them all

but less dying maybe?

She’s already saved 1 because oww fate was better than dead-fate…

yay?

AUs where people live and have to actually cope with the consequences of the mess that is made are fun to play in, at least for me. Which I encourage people to find where the happy medium between “don’t feel any character is exempt from being killed if that’s where their arc takes them” and “people living can fix the hell that their universe has become, and redemption requires living” is for them.

And yay for being a positive influence! *beams*

Dragon & gryphon

if you could build a hoard of any item, what would it be?

I’m not actually sure I’d be able to chose one item. Books, computers, recordings of music, and movies.

from where do you draw your strength?

Silence. That hushed lack of any human-made sound when in the middle of nowhere, wrapped in fog or winter or the middle of the night.

Also from sheer spite, because damnit, I’m not going to be what others want to mold me into being. (Unless they’re trying to nudge me to be a person who does no harm and takes no shit…. I’m still working on both.)

For this set of questions.

3 and 13

3. What POV do you prefer and why?

Usually I write third person limited, as if I’m telling a story that was told to me. Sometime from several points of view. It keeps things close, but it allows a little more wiggle room than first person.

13. Which of your characters would you want to be stuck in an elevator with?

If I absolutely must be stuck in an elevator… Haerviu. He’s calm, he knows how to keep other people calm, and he’s been around long enough to be familiar with a lot of things, including panic attacks.

Because I have been stuck in an elevator before, although a particularly crowded one, and the only reason I didn’t pass out was there were a couple people who noticed I was panicking. (Conventions where you know half the people there are awesome, because then you have a lot of people to look out for you.)

replied to your post “¦ I’m glad I can go find all the posts I want to reblog after having…”

*pets* I’m pretty sure tumblr is infested by computer gremlins. they break everything.

*purrs and snuggles*

Tumblr’s code is made of fail a lot of times. Which is why I have x-kit. And then tumblr will break something and it’ll take a while for x-kit to figure out how it got broke and how/if they can make a thing to fix it.

(Meanwhile, I have a ton of tabs open to catch up on reblogging stuff, and then I am going to have to remember to actually just add “tag later” to things I do not have the spoons to tag when I reblog. And hope to hell that editing an already reblogged thing doesn’t fuck things up.)
