This is indescribable, not only does it show Captain America, it also shows Steve. We forget how Steve is an actual human being instead of just being an idol with no problems. Please watch this and support the creator.
So I have decided recently to become a vegetarian and now that all my frozen meat things are gone (I didn’t want to just waste them) I will be doing so. If anyone has any tips or yummy recipes feel free to stick them onto this post! That would be cool. Please and thanks.
A number of the things I do with meat can be readily adapted to without, and I have some things I like without meat already.
Assume all garlic is minced, ginger is thin-sliced, cabbage is shredded, and other vegetables/fruit are diced unless otherwise specified.
Fried rice – garlic, ginger, and onions are the base, add any of carrots, cabbage, garden peas, corn, snap peas, broccoli, zucchini, summer squash, then also add protein (eggs or meat substiture of your choice), all cooked in olive oil (regular or light, not extra virgin) and a little seseme oil while the rice cooks (1c short/medium grained rice to 1.5c water and a dash of vinegar). When the rice is done, add the rice, and stir everything together well, douse liberally in soy sauce, and cook for another couple minutes if you want a bit of browning that makes things crunchy and tasty.
An attempt at sweet and sour that turned out more just savory – pineapple, butternut squash, onions, ginger, and garlic into a rice pot or electric pressure cooker (like an Instant Pot), add 1/2c short or medium grained rice, 1c water, a good glug of soy sauce, and a dash of vinegar. Seseme seeds optional, but tasty. You can also add meat substitute or egg for protein if you like, but it’s not necessary. If you want to add a bit of something more sweet, possibly add some apple or pear.
A favored snack – one large granny smith apple cut fine (1/4in cubes or smaller), approx. 1c chopped hazelnuts (almonds or pecans would also work), 1teaspoon of cinnamon or to taste, all put in a container with a lid, and shaken to mix well. A tablespoon of honey drizzed over that is optional, eat with a spoon.

Top is the Captain America blanket, which I’ve completed the first red stripe, and started the white stripe in between the two red ones.
The rest are the other current in-progress blanket, which is made of hexagonal blocks. Rolled up as I’ve been keeping it for working on, and then all the currently completed blocks (as they are crocheted onto the blanket as I complete them). Each row is across the blanket, so it’s going to be a fairly wide one. Eight rows to complete a repeat of the pattern, and the color patterning is laid out so adjacent blocks share some colors. Double-stranded, six colors for each block, six rounds for each block.
SHINY COLORS.
Oooh that Cap blanket is lovely!
Thank you!
(If anyone is interested, I am willing to sell the pattern, and also the blanket itself, though the latter option is hella more expensive ‘cause time involved in making the blanket.)
Good news! But I’m gonna need your help.
So. I’ve got a CHANCE at a full ride scholarship. This is a runway show worth 20500 dollars. That’s twenty thousand and five hundred dollars. What the fuck.
But some caveats.
I have to build a Look. This includes the outfit, the shoes, the hair and makeup for a model I’m providing. I’m being supplied the hair styling products and makeup products, but not the tools or the materials to make the outfit.
The runway show is on SUNDAY March 25 2018. The theme is ‘Elemental’, with a focus on reclaimed/recycled materials. I’m not going to link anyone to the runway show in case this is bending the rules, but HOLY SHIT GUYS.
My biggest problem right now: Costs for transportation and materials/tools.
Materials aren’t going to be massive. I’m doing a lot of reclaimed materials, so I should need no more than 100$ for that. Transportation to/from is going to be by metro or lyft though, so that’s going to be probably 40$ to/from for me and my model. If I can’t find a friend in my area willing to be a model for this, then I’m going to pay someone to do it, probably a pittance of what they’re worth but I’d LIKE to run 200$ into their pocket. Anything else is going to be in tools for the show, such as new makeup brushes (I own three, and they’re mine), hair dryer (I don’t own one, or a curling iron, or a flat iron, yeesh). And I need a NICE black shirt. I’ve got the black shoes and black slacks, but I have fuck-all for nice shirts in ‘Professional black”. I’m planning on hitting Ross. Five and below for makeup tools too. This aint gonna be a Sephora run.
I’ve got 75$ in my account. I’m FREAKING OUT.
If this wasn’t such a MASSIVE deal, I wouldn’t be asking for help. In order to hit the top of this heap, I’m going to be doing in essentially SIX DAYS pulling off what it can take a team of people two months. The proceeds of this runway show go towards local clean water initiatives, and I’ve got like four designs in mind right now. I’m narrowing them down, figuring out what would work best for my theme and Aesthetic.
So my total costs for this venture are going to be in the 400$ range, roughly. Everyone who participates in the show is going to get SOMETHING, because last year everyone did, and the year before that. My essay was SO GOOD guys, and you helped me with that too. (Thank you @hamelin-born your help was SO AMAZING.)
I’m not gonna be able to pull this off without help. If anyone would be willing to donate to this venture, my paypal is:
paypal.me/theotherguysride
And I’m willing to take bank-to-bank donations as well, through Wells Fargo. Just drop me a line for my email ID.
Anyone willing to signal boost would be a massive help too. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
I’m so excited and nervous. I’ve never done a project on this scale before, but I know I can do it. I’ve got the ideas, the gumption, and the time. Thank you for helping build my future.

How colorwork?!
With six colors, each one is numbered, and each side is numbered. The center three colors are set first, and then the other three are from the blocks to sides 4,5,6 (1->4, 2->5, 3->6).
Then, because I am using 5/2 cotton, I use two strands, so the first row is colors 1&2, the second row is colors 2&3, etc. Final row is 6&1.
And to keep it all worked out, I have a chart. Because otherwise, I’d never remember what colors go where.
Especially since there are 36 colors total – six each yellow, green, and blue, thee reds with three pinks, five oranges with a brown, and five purples with a gray. The rows alternate on which three of each of the six groups are used in the middle, and the four different ways I put the center three colors together and the order they go in are in different orders across four sections that make up the rows.
So the basic color pattern is 24 blocks by 8 rows, and the blocks on the end of the rows share colors with each other as well as ones further into the row.
Hopefully that makes sense? (And honestly, if someone wants the chart, I can sell it as a PDF. The color choices I made included.)

listen…. middle aged ships are my jam. there’s something hopeful about seeing two older people fall in love (or still being in love) on my screen.
give me two workaholics who realise there’s more to life than their job when they meet each other.
give me two people who’ve been to hell and back together for years and have always had each others backs.
give me two people who’ve been married for decades and are more in love than ever.
give me two lonely people thrown together in a life or death situation and let them realise they would’nt want anyone else by their side.
give me two people who’ve been heartbroken more times than they can count who find hope in each other.

so, two things from my doctor appt which I thought I might share with all of you since my doctor is a diagnostician and thus way more on top of treatment for Weird Disorders than a lot of doctors
one is alpha-tryptasemia [NIH FAQ focusing on allergies] which is the technical name for all problems relating to duplicates of the TPSAB1 gene. This results in a lot more alpha-tryptase being produced than ought to be. They just discovered that this duplication is at the root of a lot of chronic pain, fatigue, autoimmune, etc etc disorders in 2016 and just coined the name like… … last year iirc… but tryptase is very easy to test for in the blood. genetic sequencing is more expensive but getting a blood test for excess tryptase may be enough to get you a diagnosis I am not sure. the point is it’s finally a concrete THING upon which to build a house of Doctors Possibly Taking U Seriously. So if you have problems like mine maybe look into it.
Other one is low-dose naltrexone therapy. Naltrexone in doses of 50-300mg is used mainly for countering opioid overdose. but in small doses e.g. 2-4mg it can be used for managing all KINDS of other things, uhh, here is an NIH article about its use as an anti-inflammatory, but it has been used and recommended for a variety of things… it’s an opioid antagonist and the theory is that it jump starts the body to increase its own production of endorphins …uhh somehow, I do not fully understand the theory nor, I think, do people fully understand the mechanism by which it may work. There are not a ton of clinical trials for specific conditions although I know it is used for MS and a lot of autoimmune problems. A list of recent clinical trials globally is listed here. It seems to have some impact on “resetting” the immune system so to speak, and helping it to better distinguish between “self” and “not-self”, which is often the root of… many problems, as I am sure you all know
Anyway. These are things to potentially look into. I have not yet tried the LDN therapy and they have to like… send it to you from special labs which put it in small enough doses because the use is off-label and the smallest dose it’s normally made in is like 50mg. Obviously these are all things to research urself and talk about with ur doctor. But some directions for ppl who are sick like me to look into.
