“Real writers write every day.”

If I make it through traffic, and the office, and dinner, and I get the kids to bed, and I collapse into dreaming without having written one word all day, I’m still a writer.

I’m still a writer when I’m building spreadsheets for my boss. I’m still a writer when babies are spitting up on me. I’m still a writer when I’m walking the dog. I’m still a writer no matter what.

You see, a writer is not what I do. It’s who I am.

I think my favorite discrepancy between the Rogue One promo material and the actual film is that the promos make it look like this was a very carefully put together team and in reality it’s a bunch of people that Cassian Andor more or less kidnapped.

So, ok, I’m gonna try and explain what its like for an asexual when they see someone that is aesthetically pleasing because too many times have I seen a person, guy or girl, and said “Whoa, they are really gorgeous!” and had people instantly come at me with snarky comments like “I thought you asexual, how can you find someone attractive if you’re asexual?”

Well, try and picture this.

You’re hiking in the mountains and crest a hill. Before you, the mountain range on the other side of the valley sprawls in either direction, fur trees pushing as high up the sides as their clinging roots will allow. Over top, the clouds are calm and fluffy with just the barest hint of pink tickling their bellies, letting you know it might be time to turn back before dark. The colors around you are rich and vibrant. The smell of pine and earth and clean air fills your nose.

It’s a beautiful sight. It takes your breath away. You don’t want to stop looking at it.

Do you want to fuck the beautiful scenery?

No, you don’t. But just because you don’t want to rub yourself against the nearest tree doesn’t mean you can’t recognize that the space around you holds something beautiful and it doesn’t change the fact that you have a very strong but very different kind of wonderment when you look at it.

For people with social anxiety, EVERY message they send feels like a “risky message,” not just the ones with heavy emotional content. Every conversation feels like a chance to say something wrong and destroy a perfectly lovely friendship. Silence, while avoiding that problem, is also perilous because waiting too long before breaking the silence, increases the chance that the silence will be taken as a rejection.

SOCIAL ANXIETY FUCKING SUCKS AND EVERYTHING IS MENACING TO ME.

George Michael was unapologetically gay
Carrie Fisher was unapologetically bipolar
People will try to erase this from their legacies, do not let them

How about we remember them as the awesome people they were and not what characteristic Tumblr fetishes over?

How about we remember George Michael as the gay man he fought all his life to be, and Carrie Fisher as the bipolar woman who has been outspoken about her mental illness. How about we remember them as they were. George Michael a proud Gay man, an icon, Carrie Fisher a proud bipolar woman, an icon. Both of whom struggled with addiction. Both of whom were human and treated unfairly under a spotlight that should have treasured them. Both of them, inspired millions, inspired generations and generations to come. How about we remember that.

You know what? Let this blow up again

Don’t talk shit about people’s teeth. Seriously.

Speaking as a major dental hygiene enthusiast…

Great-looking teeth come from two things: luck and money (which is also a function of luck).

  • Dental procedures tend to be very, very expensive, and are almost never covered by insurance.
  • Healthy teeth aren’t necessarily big, straight or bright white. Depending on what someone’s natural teeth are like, achieving that look may require a significant downgrade in their dental health; unnecessary crowns and veneers cause damage.
  • Do not underestimate genetics’ role in determining teeth’s appearance, or how prone teeth are to problems. Genes and early development, i.e. things people get zero control over, can outweigh all else.
  • A wide range of chronic conditions impact oral health and teeth’s appearance, too, and may contraindicate various types of work or raise procedures’ cost even more.
  • Finally, for many people and many reasons, celebrity-looking teeth just aren’t a priority (even when they’re attainable; some people might want, y’know, a new car instead).

Regardless, don’t be an asshole. Not even very attractive teeth look good on those.

I’ve NEVER seen a post like this and I’m thrilled TBH because I’m very insecure about my teeth and there is literally one reason they are not nice and that is money so I’m literally down for teeth positivity
