3 and 13

3. What POV do you prefer and why?

Usually I write third person limited, as if I’m telling a story that was told to me. Sometime from several points of view. It keeps things close, but it allows a little more wiggle room than first person.

13. Which of your characters would you want to be stuck in an elevator with?

If I absolutely must be stuck in an elevator… Haerviu. He’s calm, he knows how to keep other people calm, and he’s been around long enough to be familiar with a lot of things, including panic attacks.

Because I have been stuck in an elevator before, although a particularly crowded one, and the only reason I didn’t pass out was there were a couple people who noticed I was panicking. (Conventions where you know half the people there are awesome, because then you have a lot of people to look out for you.)

For me, my handwriting can look nice, but my spelling tends to be so bad that I prefer typing for anything that’s not personal notes.

You’re neat!handwriting looks super great – though if it’s causing pain I totally understand why the faster method is preferred. 😀

Thank you! I think the only reason my spelling is all correct in this is there weren’t any of the letter combinations or words that I regularly have trouble with. The ability to look up words (usually in the text box immediately before posting anything, because I don’t deal well with it doing the spell check as I type) and automatically fix them without having to know how to spell them in the first place is a wonderful thing.

I suspect that if I had a fatter pen or wrapped my pencil, I’d have less pain while writing, but then I start feeling like I can’t hold onto it, so. *shrugs* Typing is faster, easier, and less painful, and if I have to hand-write, I’ll do the fast thing, which is still readable for me, but not always for other people, and hurts significantly less.

She looks so cute! What a great cat you rescued 🙂

Thank you! 🙂 She is adorable, even when she’s being loudly demanding because “mom, mom, you’re in the kitchen, it must be food time for MEEEEE!” (She did this less than five minutes after I’d fed her. Because human food must be better than even gooshy food.)

*pets* I’m pretty sure tumblr is infested by computer gremlins. they break everything.

*purrs and snuggles*

Tumblr’s code is made of fail a lot of times. Which is why I have x-kit. And then tumblr will break something and it’ll take a while for x-kit to figure out how it got broke and how/if they can make a thing to fix it.

(Meanwhile, I have a ton of tabs open to catch up on reblogging stuff, and then I am going to have to remember to actually just add “tag later” to things I do not have the spoons to tag when I reblog. And hope to hell that editing an already reblogged thing doesn’t fuck things up.)

The nasty side of me says it’s time to set up sprinklers and man-made rain.

It is tempting, but I can’t afford the outlay, or the lost sleep to set that up while everyone’s sleeping over the course of several days, and I’m not sure I could manage to safely tap into their water supply to do so – because fuck if I’m not making sure it’s on their dime to do something like that.

*sighs* It is a lovely, lovely thing to imagine, though.

(In more practical solutions – I know what the money from the last event and the other one coming up are going to. Because headphones that cut off practically all outside sound are going to be fantastic. Expensive, and never leaving my apartment because I can’t afford to replace them every four years, but worth every penny.)

That sounds super frustrating. I’m sorry to hear about your broken sleep. I can’t imagine how they’re not damaging their own ears with the volume.

They probably are doing damage to themselves with the volume, but I don’t think they care. Or they wouldn’t play so [expletives deleted] loud.

And it won’t stop until August or September. Which makes me wonder if they’re not just moving speakers outside and doing this outside, which would explain how they haven’t done themselves harm with the volume, but fuck’s sake, some people sleep on Saturday night, and don’t get up at the crack of dawn on Sunday.
