and just let me say it was beautiful writing and you should be proud

Thank you!

There should be a snippet tomorrow, since it has been quiet since the last reblog, which means I should be able to find my muses in enough time to get something written to go up tomorrow. 🙂

I just want to say that sometimes its hard to know if something has been stolen or not. Just take Cassandra Clair. She’s plagiarized a ton of people and they still can’t take her to court for that shit. Like, it’s actually slightly hard to prove plagiarism. And people thinking that it’s cool to take from fic is horrible. Like, okay, if an idea is prevalent in fandom enough that you have so many AU’s – meh, not so much. But, if it’s like word for word. that’s different.

I understand that.

But att this point it doesn’t matter if it is or isn’t theft. It’s about the principle of it, and someone’s continued insistence that the lived experiences of others don’t matter, and that their upset over the possibility is invalid. So I work from the argument that it is real and possible, and not as a “ha-ha, let’s just play like it is, so I can tell you you’re wrong”.

Also, their assumption that their point of view is the only valid one, and because they don’t see something it doesn’t exist, and no one else should see that thing in that situation.

This really is, at this point, me sitting there and cheerfully being a cat with a mouse until they give up or I get bored. I’m not a nice person, even if I do try to be a good one, most of the time.

is your butter not rock hard then? I have to keep mine on the counter because otherwise it won’t spread… Anyway yeah freezers should be bigger, mine is huge (by UK appliance standards) and still gets full regularly.

When I first pull it out of the freezer, it’s a rock, but then it goes on a plate under a bowl on the counter, and in the summer, it’s spreadable in about an hour. Takes a bit longer in the winter.

Most people I know keep the butter in the fridge, either all the time, or until they put it out in a butter dish. Which, with the fridge I have, means butter with weird flavors it picked up from the fridge.

(And unless it’s a new fridge, any fridge will have smells that might not be noticeable as smells, but will flavor butter and chocolate in undesirable ways.)

depending on your parents’ temperments, could you ask to have the car in your name with the reasoning that you want to practice being responsible with property and maintaining a vehicle? (though i feel as if you are a very responsible person with everything within your control)

I’ve had a car before, so that won’t work, unfortunately. My best bet is really just to ask, since they’re already replacing dad’s, and planning to replace mom’s, if we can put her car in my name. Perhaps adding that if I go anywhere – say, down to the beach house my grandparents own – it will be easier to deal with any potential problems if it’s in my name rather than mom’s.

The biggest hurdle is really crafting a reason to need the car in my name, rather than just where I can drive it, because if it’s still in their name, if I leave using it, they can report it stolen and use that to find me when I don’t want to be found.
